September 1st marked the opening of the Southport Studio Artists, formerly known as the Joseph Bardani Gallery Artists. Following the untimely death of  Joseph Bardani a masterful artist, teacher and musician, the artists in residence elected to continue using the space as a working studio and a gallery.

 

The artists are honoring the memory of Joseph by keeping his original sign, Joseph Bardani Art Studio, above the front door and continuing to use art to enrich the community. Joseph played a significant role in developing the skills of many artists in the Southport community. The resident artists would like to continue fostering art in Southport.

 

There are currently 14 resident artists painting and displaying their art in the Studio.  The Studio will be open Saturdays and select Sundays, as well as during First Fridays Art Walks and highlighted artist shows. Additionally, the Studio is open during the week when artists are painting and by appointment.  Join the studio Facebook page at Southport Studio Artists to see what the artists are up to as well as studio happenings.
